About Shaine Freeman

HOME: Atlanta, GA

FROM: Peoria, IL

SCHOOL: Bradley University

PRODUCTION:  As an Audio Director, it’s my job to help entertainment companies, public figures, and other professionals create award-winning podcasts, movies, TV shows, and/or whatever else requires A-list grade audio production.

Prior to my current professional station, I gained experience and honed my talents as a Grammy-nominated musician day-lighting as a civil engineer (1997-2009), an award-winning magazine publisher (2009-2017), and a film-television talent manager (2009-2014).

SPORTS:  I am a Gold certified USA Basketball player development coach and skills trainer who has worked with players of all ages (youth – NBA pro).  I also volunteer as a high school boys coach with AC Georgia, one of only two travel basketball programs in Georgia powered by Under Armour. As a coach, I spend a great deal of time helping elite student-athletes prepare for and secure NCAA basketball scholarships.

MY WORK HISTORY

I launched my podcasting career in 2014 as the host of the I Am Entertainment Magazine podcast, which became The Miews music podcast in 2015 and ran for 144 episodes until coming to an end in 2017.  After three successful years as a host, I shifted focus to helping other podcasters produce top-notch shows.  Since that time, my work has generated over 17 million audio downloads, 3 million video streams via YouTube, and featured by some of the top media sources in the world (see below).  Many of the podcasts I produce also become featured on Apple Podcasts’ New & Noteworthy, and Chartable – the leading podcast charts.

My 26-year professional music career began in the early-1990’s as a musician, producer, and engineer for major and indie Pop, R&B, and Hip-Hop record companies. I have worked with multiplatinum and Grammy winning artists like BoyzIIMen, Usher, P Diddy, and Juvenile to name a few.  My work has generated three Grammy nominations, over 30 million albums sold, and has been featured by some of the top media sources in the world.

Spend enough time with me and you’ll know that I am just as enthusiastic about basketball as I am about podcasting.  My clients include/have included such basketball professionals as 3x NBA Champion BJ Armstrong, NBA analyst Ric Bucher, ESPN personality/10yr NBA veteran Ryan Hollins, and retired NBA All-Star Kenny Anderson to name a few.  I am a certified USA Basketball coach, and high school boys head coach with Under Armour sponsored travel basketball team Atlanta Xpress (which produced Minnesota Timberwolves guard, Anthony Edwards – #1 draft pick in the 2020 NBA Draft).  As a player & trainer, I have spent time on the court with countless professional athletes like 3x NBA Champion Shaun Livingston, Phoenix Suns Asst. Coach Brian Randle, NBA VP of Operations David Booth, former NBA guard A.J. Guyton, and many more.

I’ve worked professionally in Film & TV since 2009; first as a talent manager guiding the successful careers of actors like Sarah TomkoIrone Singleton, and Jeff Rose.  After a five year stint in management (2009-2014), I decided to explore opportunities in music licensing and supervision. Since that time, I have worked to connect indie filmmakers to musicians for collaborative ventures.  Most recently, I handled music supervision for the NBA documentary film Mr. Chibbs.

As a journalist my work has been featured by top entertainment sources like Huffington Post, Billboard Magazine, Medium, and Sonicbids to name a few.  As the publisher and editor of award-winning I Am Entertainment magazine (2009-2017), I had the pleasure of meeting and covering the stories of the most successful artists and behind the scenes professionals in show business.  It was also during this time that I got into podcasting; first hosting and producing I Am Entertainment Podcast, before becoming the host of The Miews music podcast (2014-2017). I also published 3 issues of The Miews magazine to accompany the podcast.
